THE BRIEF
For the launch of their premiere scientific review publication at the 2019 COP25, IUCN's Global Marine group commissioned visual abstracts to represent key messaging for press, attendees and policy makers.
A billfish of oxygen bubbles illustrated the report's central theme of ocean deoxygenation. "Suffocating oceans" harm billfish and representing it with oxygen bubbles created a visual metaphor for the delicate natural cycles being disrupted.
Additionally we created custom artwork and event collateral that established a visual identity around all IUCN communications and promotions for this report.
THE EVENT
The 2019 United Nations Climate Change Conference or COP25, serves as the formal meeting of the UNFCCC parties to assess progress in dealing with climate change and to establish legally binding obligations for developed countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
